| Volunteer Application Process |
 |
Step 1: Fill Out the Application
If you have not already done so, please fill out our Volunteer Application through our Website. |
 |
Step 2: Email Your References
Ask them to send their reference letter directly to: RogersVolApps@yahoogroups.com . Here's a sample email that can be used to send to your selected references:
Hi, I've applied to volunteer with Rogers ' Rescues ( www.rogersrescues.com ), an all breed dog rescue. As part of the volunteer process, they ask for two personal references. Would you be one of my references? If so, please send an email to their volunteer coordinator at RogersVolApps@yahoogroups.com . In this email, please tell the rescue how you know me, how long you've known me, and why you feel I would be a good volunteer and/or foster home for Rogers Rescues. Thanks for your help! |
 |
Step Three: Phone Interview
We contact you as quickly as we can, but it may take a couple of days. Please understand we're all volunteers, and we do the best we can! We respond to ALL completed applications. If you haven't heard from us within five days, please email us for a status update. |
 |
Step Four: Complete Online Training Class
Prior to volunteering, you will be required to take an online training class which introduces to Rogers' Rescues policies and operating practices. This class can be taken from your home PC at any hour of the day or night and will take you about seven days to complete. Volunteers interested in becoming a foster home will be required to complete additional online training. If approved as a volunteer, you will be sent instructions on how to access the Rogers ' Rescues Volunteer Yahoo! Group Site. |
 |
Step Five: Home Visit (Foster Home Volunteers Only)
If you are volunteering with Rogers' in a foster home capacity, one of our volunteers will contact to set up a home visit. A home visit is when the volunteer comes to your home to verify the information described in the application is correct--it is not a white glove inspection. It also gives you the opportunity talk with one of volunteers in person and find out more about the rescue. |
