1. Can I volunteer even if I can’t foster a dog?
Yes, there are many ways of volunteering with Rogers’ other than fostering a dog. To find out the different ways you can help, check out our volunteer opportunities.
2. What kind of volunteer opportunities are available?
Foster home, general admin, interviewers, etc. These are just a couple of examples of the ways in which people volunteer with Rogers. To find out more, check out the volunteer opportunities section of the site.
3. How much time is required for volunteering?
The wonderful thing about volunteering with Rogers’ Rescues is that you can give as much or as little time as you have available. Obviously, certain volunteer roles require much more time than others, so be sure to find out the time commitments required of the different roles. For example, members of our interview team typically only conduct one interview a week. However, you can always request more if your schedule allows!
The one important thing to note is that all roles require the volunteer to have online access and to check email at least once a day. Our correspondence is typically done via email, so online access is essential to volunteer with our organization.
4. Is there training available for new volunteers?
Yes, we have a group training site where all of our new volunteers must complete the training before joining the group. Our training site is monitored by our volunteer coordinator.
5. If I can’t attend events, can I still volunteer?
Yes! Much of our work is done outside of the events. The events are usually a ton of fun and you have the chance to meet many of the other volunteers in person, but attendance is not required.
6. How do I submit a volunteer application?
Our volunteer application is only available online through our Website.
7. Do we allow volunteers under 18 years of age?
We do allow volunteers under 18 as long as a parental consent form is signed.
