Jakson is one special boy! Several years ago, Jakson found himself in a rural KY shelter. He spent over 2 years there waiting for someone to give him a chance. He was almost out of hope but finally, he caught the eye of a Rogers’ Rescues foster home and up to NJ he came. His foster Mom helped him work through the transition from being a shelter dog to being a “home” dog. Jakson excelled and found himself a wonderful home.

Unfortunately, a few years later, his family situation changed and Jakson had to come back to Rogers’ Rescues to look once again, for a family to call his own. His first family was devastated and had nothing but wonderful things to say about Jakson. Jakson is truly a gem! All the good qualities one looks for in a new four legged family member: housebroken, medium energy level, people focused, great with other dogs of all personalities and super affectionate! He can be trusted with free reign in the home He has been through positive reinforcement clicker training and the trainer kept saying what a super smart boy he is! All this in a really handsome package with a unique bobbed tail! CUTE!

Jakson is initially a shyer boy around new people. He is looking for a family that will help him with this. He bonds quickly to “his” people but can be initially wary with strangers. Usually after some treats and some kind talk, he comes around quickly. Ideally Jakson is looking for a dog experienced home who will be willing to take some effort initially to socialize him best they can and in return, he will give unconditional love and affection! He loves belly rubs and cuddles up with his foster Mom at night to sleep. He would prefer a home with another confident, well adjusted dog if only to help show him that strangers are OK.

Jakson is looking for love the second time around and despite having a life that wasn’t always easy, he continues to amaze all he meets! One look into his gentle, soulful eyes and you will be sold! Jakson is neutered and up to date on all shots. (Jakson is very camera shy – which is funny because the vacuum doesn’t phase him! - and his pictures don’t do him justice!!)
